YOUR FIRST MISSION TRIP SHOULD BE AN EMOTIONALLY AND SPIRITUALLY IMPACTFUL EXPERIENCE.
Going to another country, especially if you have never been out of the United States can be challenging. You may begin pondering questions like…
‘Is it safe for me to go overseas?’
‘How can I keep from getting sick?’
‘How would I manage to take a week out of my busy schedule to go?’
HERE ARE A FEW THINGS YOU CAN EXPECT FROM CWE.
Preparation
CWE takes the time to thoroughly prepare for each trip.
We begin by visiting the project site and gathering all the needed information. This allows us to develop the project and make sure it is a place where our volunteers will feel and be safe.
Planning
God has blessed CWE and, through our extensive planning and attention to detail, allowed our trips to run smoothly. That is not to say we never have “bumps in the road,” just that we are able to eliminate a lot of the potential issues during this project planning phase.
Packing
Long before you begin to pack up your suitcases for your trip, we have already packed our 40’ cargo container to ship all the necessary tools, food, and supplies to the project site so that everything is waiting for your arrival.
CWE sends food from the USA for our volunteers to eat while on the trip. This planning helps to keep you healthy.
Projects
Our trips typically begin on a Saturday. International trips begin with each volunteer arriving at the airport from which the whole team will depart. From there, the team travels together to the project destination. For domestic trips, the project begins with each volunteer arriving at the project site. We always try to attend church with the missionaries and nationals (if international) on Sunday.
Monday – Thursday we begin work early in the morning, break for lunch, and end around 4 p.m.
In the evenings after dinner, we have team devotions. This allows the entire team to come together for a short time of worship and interactive Bible study.
For international trips, on Friday, when all the assigned work is complete, we plan to soak in the sites and experience the local culture before we prepare to return home on Saturday morning. For domestic trips, the trip ends Friday morning with all the volunteers returning home.
There is nothing quite like the experience of your first CWE mission trip! Most who go on a trip with CWE Missions end up returning for multiple trips because of the powerful positive impact on their lives.

“From the first encounter, CWE Missions has been transformational in my life. CWE and volunteers have challenged me to grow in my walk with Christ and to be more confident in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am not just a pew-sitter, but an evangelist now. I am grateful for every opportunity I have to serve with the men and women of CWE and I look forward to many more years of service with them.”
